Traffic jam creates mess at Lakhanpur, hundreds of vehicles stranded | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Oct 11: Hundreds of vehicles today got stranded at Lakhanpur due to heavy congestion causing inconvenience to commuters, school going children and office goers. Passengers informed that they could not reach their destination due to heavy traffic jam from Kalibari to Lakhanpur. They accused the Excise and taxation department of creating themes. They also accused the traffic police of failure to restore order. Shabeel Ahmad, a government teacher who was worried about his students, informed that the school staff could not reach the school on time. Bilal Ahmad, a truck driver, blamed wrongly parked trucks for the mess. Sandip Sharma, ETO informed that the department had provided additional staff to clarify the formalities of fruit vehicles and added that it was common during fruit season. The officer appealed public to co-operate the staff and not to park vehicles at wrong place. Vehicles were still stranded when last reports came in. |
