Road accident victims families demand adequate compensation | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Oct 11: Blaming the state government for its dual yardsticks, the families of road accident victims whose kith have been killed during an accident when a Tata sumo skidded off the road and fall into 500 feet deep gorge area of sub division Mendhar on August 13, 2018 claiming four precious lives besides 5 people left critically inured. On the name of help extended by the government to victim families whose bread earners lost their lives were given Rs 10000 each and Rs 5000 to injured sources said, adding. It was sheer dicrimnation with the victim families and their case files were piling in the office of the district administration but no further action was initiated into the matter. Bakir Hussain Shah father one of the dead in the accident Nissar Hussain Shah, while talking to Early Times broke into tears that the administration was using double yard sticks even in the compensation of road accidents. He said in Ramban accident recently the government gave Rs 5 lakh to the family of each dead besides Rs 50000 have been announced for injured. The people who died in poonch were children of lesser god and were given a meager amount of Rs 10 thousand only while any accident on road that takes place outside the Poonch district are paid a quite handsome compensation. |
