| Deeba gets Sahitya Academy Yuva Puraskar | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 27: Deeba Nazir from Srinagar's old city has been conferred this years prestigious Sahitya Academy yuwa puraskar in Kashmiri literature . Deeba who hails from from Eid Gah area of Srinagar has been presented the award at Shillong on Friday for her book titled "Zareen Zakhm" which revolves round Deeba & her Kashmiri pandit brother who got separated from her soon after the onset of militancy in Kashmir.
Deeba who has done her post graduation in Kashmiri, Urdu literature as well Zareen Zakham is a collection of Kashmiri short stories.
Among 15 short stories in Zareen Zakhm, Tchaandaww (Search) is a marvelous piece of work which revolves round Deeba and herDoudh e Buoy (foster brother) who is a Kashmiri pandit whom Dheeba has not seen since they were born in Srinagar's Lala Ded maternity hospital way back in 1988. Gulshan while giving birth to her daughter (Dheeba) had suckled a male baby whose Kashmir Pandit mother was not well soon after the delivery. This lady too was admitted in the same ward during that time. Only thing Dheeba knows from her mother is that the family hailed from Habba Kadal area Srinagar.
