18 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested, truck seized | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 27: District police Rajouri today claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued 18 bovines from their clutches at Kallar area of Rajouri. Police spokesman said that a team of police headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus Chatyar-SI Sanjay Raina under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider raised a naka for traffic checking at Kallar chowk on highway when a truck was intercepted and put to frisking and 18 bovines were found loaded in it. Police spokesman said that a truck bearing registration number JK02BP-7383 was seized on the spot and all the animals loaded in a cruel manner were rescued. "Truck driver namely Gurdeep Singh resident of Greater Kailash colony Jammu along with one Nazakat Hussain resident of Qazikund were arrested on the spot", said spokesman adding that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation taken up Police Station Rajouri. |
