Despite tall claims, Poonch lacks proper healthcare | | | Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report Poonch, Nov 2: Although government claims to provide better health facilities to the common masses, especially in rural areas through schemes like National Rural Health Mission etc but Poonch district continues to suffer for want of healthcare. According to the sources, most of the health institutions in this far flung district remain closed due to continue absence of employees. The department has appointed the influential and blue eyed employees through different schemes who are deliberately remain absent from their duties, locals further informed. Pertinent to mention that, there are about 200 health institutions in border district Poonch including a district hospital, three sub district hospitals, primary health centers, Allopathic Dispensaries and Sub Centers most of them remain close during working hours. Sources from different areas informed that most of the health institutions remain nonfunctional and authorities have no care of them. Locals have appealed to governor Satya Pal Malik to take strict action into the matter and provide serious staff in all health institutions in Poonch. |
