Multi-crore contract for sterilization of dogs | CB confirmed contract was awarded on fake certificate | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 2: In a startling revelation the Crime Branch Jammu in a status report filed in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu has confirmed that the experience certificate used by Dr. Sagar S. Ghadage, while obtaining Rs.4.00 crore contract to carry out the work of ABC (Animal Birth Control) Programme of Stray Dogs in all the 71 Wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation, was not issued by the Secretary, Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Udgir District Latur (Maharashtra). The Crime Branch in its status report further said that the reply has been received from President of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Udgir District Latur (Maharashtra) wherein it has been mentioned that Dr. Sagar S. Ghadage was working with the said Society in the year 2015-2016 and the experience certificate was not issued by the Secretary of the said Society. This status report was filed by the Crime Branch Jammu in a complaint filed by Hem Lata Karki, Animal Welfare Activist wherein she has sought appropriate directions to the SSP Crime Branch Jammu to register an FIR against Dr. Sagar S. Ghadage who furnished fake experience certificate while obtaining the contract. Earlier the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu Ashwani Kumar Sharma had directed Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Jammu to file a detailed report regarding the steps taken to ascertain the genuineness of the experience certificate dated March, 22, 2016 allegedly issued by Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Udgir District Latur (Maharashtra) in favour of Dr. Sagar S. Ghadage. In the updated status report it is further submitted that keeping in view the seriousness of the matter a letter was written to Municipal Commissioner Jammu regarding the authentication of the experience certificate submitted by Dr. Sagar S. Ghadage and the details of the officer /officials who have been authorized by the JMC for tendering of ABC/ARV of stray dogs of Jammu District and the reply of the JMC is still awaited. After considering the above referred status report of the Crime Branch, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu in view of the awaiting of approval from the Crime Headquarters regarding the lodging of the FIR disposed of the complaint filed by the Animal Welfare Activist Hem Lata Karki. |
