6 grams heroin recovered, narcotic smuggler held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 8: Udhampur police today recovered 6 grams of contraband substance (chitta) from a narcotic smuggler near Kali Mata Temple NHW, Udhampur. Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Udhampur said that based on a reliable information, a party of Udhampur police station led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO Udhampur under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani-DySP Hqrs, Udhampur raised a surprise naka at Kali Mata Mandir, NHW, Udhampur for checking of vehicles. "During naka checking, police party stopped one motorcycle bearing registration number JK14-8575 which was subjected to thorough search and during search of said vehicle 6 grams of heroin (chitta), was recovered", said SSP Udhampur. Police identified the arrested narcotic smuggler as Aklesh Sharma alias Leshi resident of Opposite SBI Bank, Barrian, Udhampur, who was arrested on the spot. In this connection, a case under FIR no. 552/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up. |
