JAMMU, Nov 8: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized a consignment of heroin worth crores from Toll Plaza near here.
Police sources said that on a specific information, a team of NCB intercepted apple laden trucks at Toll Plaza, near Jammu on National Highway.
Accordingly, during unloading of one truck, three wooden apple boxes were found in which 50 packets of heroin were concealed. NCB, Jammu Zone thus affected major seizure of 50.120 Kgs, of heroin from a Apple laden Truck and arrested 1 person, resident of district Kupwara (Srinagar). The loading of this truck was from Kashmir and this truck was allegedly destined for Delhi.
This is the third biggest seizure of heroin of the current year in India by any agency. The biggest heroin seizure of this year was also effected by NCB Jammu Zone only. NCB is strengthening its Jammu Zone and Chandigarh Zone and these big seizures are a result of NCB initiatives in North West India. |
