jammu, Nov 8: Apropos to the news item published in a section of press regarding holding of elections to 316 Block Development councils in the state for the first time, the J&K Aam Aadmi Party, in a meeting held on 7th of November 2018 under the chairmanship of S. Deep Singh National Council & Founder Member has expressed great satisfaction on the initiatives taken by Governor of the state and lauded his efforts to decentralize the powers into the hands of public representatives in a democratic manner which hither to fore have remained confined to corridors of powers in the civil secretariat. Addressing the meeting various speakers, while hailing the Governor, demanded that three Tier Panchayati Raj system, on the analogy of other states of the country, need be constituted in the state which is need of the hour to give a death blow to corruption, nepotism and un-employment. For this purpose, District Planning & Development Board need be put in place by electing its chairman amongst the chair persons of various Blocks in the District. As of now there is a District Planning & Dev. Board Chairman who is virtually a non-local Minister and often than not acts on partisan basis and kills the basic. |
