"Some influential doctors having strong proximity with politicians and bureaucrats want to delay the appointment of MS for their vested interests," sources told Early Times. Notably, four departments of the SMGS hospital including Gyane and Obst, ENT, Dermatology and Paediatrics are being run in this hospital. Around 2500 patients visit the OPD every day and more than 300 admissions are effected on daily basis. An official of the Health department, seeking anonymity, said it is clearly a reflection of incompetence and non-seriousness on the part of administrative department of the SMGS hospital which has completely failed to appoint any senior most MS. As per the official, one junior most doctor is trying his best to derail and delay the government order which already has been approved by senior authorities. The junior medico is reportedly trying to get his name pushed by the competent authorities of GMC Jammu. Moreover, another junior doctor, who is also influential and henchman of the higher-ups, is also trying hard to get the post in favour of his doctor. The official further said that these doctors are not only influencing the concerned authority but also misguiding the senior officials of the parental department. They also are trying their best to control all affairs of the hospital, the sources added. |
