Jammu, Nov 24: An impressive prize distribution programme has been organized today on second day of Jhiri Mela at the Pandal of Department of Agriculture, (Jhiri Kalayanpur) to facilitate/ encourage the Farmers for appreciable Work in the field of various farm activities like Organic Farming, Mushroom Cultivation, Apiculture, Protected Vegetable Cultivation, Vermicomposting and Self Help Groups (SHG).The Programme was held under the instructions of Worthy Director Agriculture, Jammu H. K. Razdan presided over by Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu, Narinder Misra. More than 500 live exhibits of paddy, maize, vegetables, mushrooms, spices and sugarcane crops brought by the farmers of different places were displayed to the public after registration and assessment by the Judging committee. Prizes were given to 180 farmers for best exhibits out of which 30 nos comprised of Ist prizes, 30 nos IInd, 30 nos 3rd and 90 consolation prizes. The prominent progressive farmers who were facilitated for their exemplary Integrated Farm activities include Sudesh Kumar R/O Panjore, Mohan Lal R/O Pandorian, Kulbhushan Singh R/O Purkhoo , Joginder Singh R/O Malpur, Rakesh Kumar R/O Kalayanpur, Raj Kumari R/O Gajansoo besides others. |
