| GDC Udhampur observes communal harmony week | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24:: Government College for Women Udhampur in collaboration with National Foundation for Communal Harmony, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, observed Communal Harmony Week and Flag Day thereafter on the culminating day.
The prime motive of observing this particular week is to disseminate the message of Communal Harmony amongst the students and other stakeholders of the society. It is ultimately instrumental in rendering peace and prosperity in the society. Also, these sorts of events are also used to raising funds which could be utilized for the noble cause of helping the destitute and downtrodden sections of the society.
The Programme began with the introductory note and welcome address by Prof. Swarna Bhougal, assistant professor, GCW Udhampur. Thereafter Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal, GCW Udhampur had a word with the students and told them the significance of the events like this. He stressed that these events are meant to learn the societal predicaments of a nation and therefore instrumental in building peace and integrity in the social set up. He also appealed to the students to take the message to the society.
