HBET gives scholarships for 600 rural girl children | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24: A five-day scholarship carnival was launched by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust here today for 600 students from rural areas. More than 80% of the students are girls from economically weak families. Besides scholarships, the children will also get Free medical and Eye checkups. Counseling will be conducted for the parents and students. The students of class 1st to 10th will also participate in evaluation tests. Tests for new students will also be conducted from classes 1st to 3rd for selection into the next academic year. Anjali Khosla, a large supporter of the Trust since it's inception was the Chief Guest. She distributed the scholarships and impressed upon the children that they are getting an opportunity to achieve excellence in their education and to carve out a bright future for themselves. She appreciated the efforts of every possible step being taken by the HBET to promote education of girls, particularly those who live in the slums and in the remote rural areas. She also wished them a bright future ahead. The Managing Trustee said that the scholarships will be distributed to 600 students over the next several days and every day 100+ students will be invited along with their parents to collect the scholarship. |
