Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 24: To observe the International Day for elimination of violence against women and to promote the traditional culture of J&K, the Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) staged 237th Saturday Series with a musical play "Shakti" in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production (STAP) here today at Durga Bhawan , Janipur. The programe was inaugurated by the Chief Guest State Gharana & Sa Re Ga Ma awardee Suraj Singh, a renowned singer of J&K. VK Magotra, former regional director, directorate of field publicity, Government of India, J K Raina, Producer-Director Films and Dr Anju Dogra, J&K Heath Department were the guests of honors. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest V K Magotra highlighted the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padao" campaign of Government of India. He said that the aim of scheme is that to alter the position of the girl kid in family / the public. It also aims to help modify the people's mindsets for appropriate care of the girl kid and as well as to offer the girl child their birth rights as started in Indian constitution. On the occasion, the songs sung by the artists include "Hum Sab Hi Ladli Beti", "Dhiyan Gi Na Marro", "Mang Rahi Hai Beti Jag Mai Jine Ka Adhikar"," Baiman Lok Kase Diya Mar De" ,"Sun -Sun Saheli Meri Sun, Paruhn Likhu Yehi Meri Dhun" and "Kya Pier Kahun Apne Mann Ki". |
