Early Times Report Vijaypur, Nov 25: Former Minister and Congress's district president in Samba Manjit Singh on Sunday condemned undemocratic move of Governor Satya Paul Malik to dissolve Legislative Assembly when 'grand-alliance' joined hands to form a coalition Govt in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at a public meeting, Manjit Singh, former minister, said that the BJP has failed to provide governance to the people of the State. "Jammu faced discrimination under BJP rule even as they got all of their 25 assembly seats from the division. In BJP-PDP Government, it seemed that Jammu has no one to represent," he said, while recalling the lack of developmental activities in Palli area in Bari Brahmana (Samba District). There is no development in Palli area after 2002-2008 and the area lacks in road connectivity, power and water supply. The BJP Government ignored the area and people suffered due to partial attitude of the right wing political party. Responding to the accusation that alliance was "opportunists and worked on direction from Pakistan, former Minister questioned BJP why they were silent when then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed praised Pakistan and thanked militants in front of Prime Minister Narindra Modi during a function in Jammu. "BJP has one rule. If one is standing on their side, he is patriotic and if one opposes them, they are blamed as Pakistani," he alleged. Same PDP was in Government with BJP and that time, they did not see them as anti-nationals, he said, adding warned BJP not to teach nationalism to Congress party. |
