Jammu, Nov 25: Media XI Cricket Club Jammu outplayed Jammu and Kashmir Police XI (JKP XI) in an exhibition match played at K C Sports Club Stadium, here today.
Media XI CC skipper Rahul Khatri won the toss and elected to bat first. Media XI CC posted a challenging 139 runs on scoreboard at the loss of 9 wickets in 18 overs. The match was curtailed to 18 over per side game due to delay in start. Amit Sudan (24 runs) and Amit Kumar (19 runs) were the main contributors for the Media XI while Dev Thakur (18) Sunil Bali (17) and Rahul Khatri (12 runs of 6 balls) also played valuable innings.
For JKP XI, Shashi and Bhat shared 3 wickets each whereas Akshay Khajuria and Rakesh Koul scalped one each.
Chasing the target, JKP XI failed to climb the target as the Media XI bowled disciplined and kept JKP starving for runs in the middle overs. JKP batters kept losing wickets on regular interval thus lost the match by 22 runs. For JKP XI Shashi (22), Rohan Gill (20) Rajesh Gill (12) were the major contributors. For Media XI CC, Faheem Tak with 2 wickets remained the pick of the Bowlers, whereas Dev Thakur, Rahul Khatri and Vivek Suri shared wicket apiece. |
