Jammu, Dec 1: To obseve the World Aids Day and to promote the traditional rich culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented its regular 238th Saturday Series musical play "AIDS KOLA BACHO". The event in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production & National College of Computer Education at Juhgi Jonpdi, Shant Nagar Paloura Jammu to aware the masses on the theme of this year "Know Your Status". The programe was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government, Dr. A.C. Bhagat, Former Chief Officer Department of Animal Husbandry, J&K Government, V.K.Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directoate of Field Publicity, Government of India, J.K.Raina, Producer, Director Films and Dr. Anju Dogra, J&K Govt. Heath Dept were the Guest of Honors. Speaking on the occasion chief guest highlighted the importance of World aids day is celebrated every year all over the world on 1st of December to raise the public awareness about AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome). AIDS is a pandemic disease caused due to the infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and also lauding the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan-(NGO) and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication. The programe was commenced with the songs were "Jaan Jaan Mada Aids Rog Jaan", "Kailyan Kawan Weh laeyie Saneda ja", "Roko Roko Aids gi roko", "Kariye Na wada kisi se kariye Na", "Laga Gran Sade setu da mela", "Chota Parivar Sukhi Parivar" & the music of the play composed by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor. The Musical Play "AIDS KOLA BACHO" written, produced and directed by M.L. Dogra (Chairman, BLSKS) highlighted the importance of the day the two main aims i.e (1)It urged people to know their infection status through testing and access of treatment and care services. (2) It urged the governments to promote a 'Health for All' agenda for HIV and other health services and also highlighted the components to prevention of Aids (a) Intensifying and Consolidating Prevention services with a focus on HRG and vulnerable populations (b) Expanding IEC services for general population and high risk groups with a focus on behavior change and demand generation (c) Comprehensive Care, Support and Treatment (d) Strengthening institutional capacities (e) Strategic Information Management Systems. Welcoming the dignitaries Usha Handoo, Troupe Leader, STAP also explained aims of the programe. The singers, musician, actors and students of music and computer institute who performed in the musical play were Zulekha Farid, Rajni Gupta, Deevam Jandiyal, Rakshit Sharma, Druv Pandit, Bhoomika Chib, Ujwal Sharma, Rakshit Sharma, Priya, Azen Ali, Kuldeep Raj ,Bhoomika Chib, Neelam Chib, Rafiq, Bablu Kumar, Bodh Raj and many others presented the enthralled performance Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks for successful conduction of the program. |
