"Eat Right India" rally flagged off | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 2: "Eat Right India" a National campaign started by Food Safety & Standards Authority of India in collaboration with State Food Safety Authority today organized a programme at Hatli Morh, Kathua in which the cyclists participating in Swasth Bharat Yatra were flagged off by the Commissioner Food Safety J&K, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, who was Chief Guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Dr Kabir, stressed upon the audience to eat healthy, eat safe and eat fortified food items to decrease the level of deaths caused due to the Non Communicable Diseases, Food borne diseases and micronutrient deficiency diseases. The Commissioner Food Safety sought the active cooperation of all the stakeholders to achieve the goal of food safety. On this occasion pledge was taken by all the participants that from now onwards we will consume less sugar, salt and fat to remain healthy. He also informed that the campaign has reached Kathua after covering a distance of nearly 1500 KM besides touching 22 destinations. This yatra will now enter our neighboring state of Punjab through Lakhanpur where the baton of cyclotron will be passed on to the Food Safety Authority of Punjab and will finally culminate at New Delhi on 27th January, Dr Dar said. |
