| PAF slams Guv’s move to put J&K bank in public sector | | |

Kishtwar, Dec 2: Public Awareness Front (PAF) has criticised the decision of Governor's administration to treat Jammu and Kashmir Bank as a pubic-sector undertaking, saying it "smacks of attempts to fiddle with the basic character of the state's special status".
PAF president Shakir Siddiqui called for immediate rollback of the decision taken by Governor SP Malik-led state administrative council (SAC).
He alleged that "assaults on multiple fronts" were being launched against Jammu and Kashmir's special status and the administration "is taking away" autonomy of institutions that the state enjoyed.
He further added that J&k State is having special status and , "caretaker administrator did not have the people's mandate to take such major decisions with far-reaching implications.
He further said that Jammu and Kashmir administration recently approved repeal of the J&K State Lands (vesting of ownership to the occupants) Act, 2001, commonly known as the Roshni scheme. |
