Jammu, Dec 6: Department of Agriculture, Jammu conducted One Day Training Programme-Cum-Orientation to sensitize the officers and Staff of Sericulture Department about Vermicomposting at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo Jammu, here today. The training was organized by the Joint Directorate of Agriculture (Extension) under the directions of Director of Agriculture, Jammu H. K. Razdan. Others present on the occasion include Deputy Director Of Agriculture (Trainings), Sunil Koul, Deputy Director Of Agriculture (Central), Jagmohan Bhat, Programme Officer, Yaduvinder Singh, Sericulture Assistants, Sanjay Rohomitra, Rajinder Padha and other officers and staff of Sericulture Department. Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), Bulesh Zutshi in His Welcome Address highlighted the importance of Vermicomposting in present scenario of organic farming and impressed upon the participants to Learn theoretical and practical aspects of the manufacturing Vermicompost and utilize the technique in sericulture nurseries effectively to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and to enhance the production/ quality of mulberry which is the main input of sericulture industry. The chief Resource personal, Sarmesh Kumar, Training Officer (FTC) covered in detail all aspects of Vermicompost making through power point presentation. He told that the objective of the this training is to aware the participants how to utilize the waste material mulberry nursery like fallen leaves, tender twigs, straw, litter and other bio degradable waste to manufacture of high quality Vermicompost. |
