| Pahari speaking community demands ST status | | |

RAJOURI, Dec 16: Pahari speaking community has expressed their concern over decade's long delay in granting ST status to the community and hoped that the Governor Administra-tion will sympathetically consider their long pending demand.
In a meeting held here at Rajouri, Shahbaz Khan and Ashok Kumar, chairman and spokesman of J&K Pahariovernor to consider their long pending demand.
Pahari community leaders while castigating the successive state governments said,"All the government have deceived the Pahari community on the name of votes by giving hollow promises".
"Central Government should respect the State Legislative Assembly by responding the resolution passed by it and referred to the Centre for granting Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to Paharis by the house few years back" said Ashok Kumar.
"Governor Administr-ation is well aware about our miseries and demand and we hope that more than 20 lakh Paharis will get justice soon," said Khan. |
