| 2 Narco smugglers arrested with 120 kg Poppy Straw; 2 local conduits also in net | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Dec 16: Continuing its war against to contain the spread of narcotic drugs & psychotropic substances, Udhampur police today recovered 120 kg of contraband substance (poppy straw) from narcotic smugglers at Tikri Udhampur.
Police spokesman said that based on reliable information, a party of police post Tikri led by SI Pawan Dogra-incharge police post Tikri, under the supervision of Inspector Paramjeet Singh-SHO Rehmbal and supervised by Zahid Saif Wani-DySP HQ raised a naka at Tikri, Udhampur for checking of vehicles.
"During naka checking, police party stopped one Tata mobile bearing registration number JK14B- 7232 which was subjected to thorough search", said police spokesman adding that during search of said vehicle, 120 kg poppy straw was recovered.
Spokesman further said the arrested narcotic smugglers have been identified as Yawar Ahmed Ganai of Kakran Kulgam, Tariq Ahmed Malik of Qazigund Kulgam.
Spokesman further said that on the basis of further inputs and investigations two other local conduits of this drug network were arrested and have been identified as Nand Kishore of Jaganoo Udhampur, Narinder Singh of Sukki Karlai Udhampur while the vehicle involved in the transportation of the consignment has been seized by the police.
In this connection, a case under FIR No. 193/18 under section 8/15/29 NDPS has been registered in Rehmbal police station and further investigation of the case is on. |
