JAMMU, Dec 16: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) won their opening tie beating Central University of Jammu (CUJ) by eight wickets in the North Zone Inter-University Cricket Tournament, organised by Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
As per the reports reaching here, batting first, after SMVDU won the toss and opted to field, CUJ bowled out for 84 runs. Dinesh Jamwal took three wickets for 13 runs in four overs.
In reply, SMVDU chased the total in 10 overs for the loss of two wickets. Nakshatar Sharma played fine innings of 39 runs thereby guided the side to an easy win.
Now, in their next outing, SMVDU shall take on Jamia Milia University tomorrow. The SMVDU team is accompanied by Sumit Sharma as coach. |
