JAMMU, Dec 16: Vijay Choudhary, Councillor ward no 42, along with Choudhary Manmohan Singh, former Mayor Jammu, held an open darbar at Sec 2 Nanak Nagar on demand of the residents. These residents came forward to bring their issues to Choudhary's attention. They told her that the street lights are not in working condition, either broken or totally out of order. Leakage of pipelines, water keeps pooling outside inviting mosquitoes to dwell on it, there are pot holes on roads where waste starts gathering and further causes blockage. Due to broken pipelines the water supply is disturbed, the low pressure of water supply has become a daily household issue. The roads, drains and lanes needs to be repaired properly with the desilting of drains done soon. Choudhary said that the street lights which can be repaired will be repaired within two days and the leakage problem will also be resolved. She asked the sanitary staff present to clean the lanes daily and unclog the blocked drains too. She said that since there has been no funding from the Corporation, and the extra manpower with vehicles needed have not been provided yet, the desilting of drains will have to wait. |
