| Two youth stabbed, taxi driver held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: Two youth sustained injuries after they were allegedly stabbed by a taxi driver with kirpan over a petty issue at Maheshpura area falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station, this evening.
Police identified the injured as Ronit Mengi (24) son of Rakesh Mengi of Paloura and Arjun Sahi (25) son of Anil Sahi of Satwari.
Police sources said that the youth were travelling a car and had some verbal arguments with the taxi driver who attacked them with kirpan resulting injuries to them.
After getting the information, flying on police station Bakshi Nagar reached the spot and shifted the injured to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for treatment while the accused managed to escape from the spot leaving behind his vehicle.
Meanwhile, team led by Inspector Naresh Sharma-SHO Bakshi Nagar immediately swung into action and arrested the accused identified as Satnam Sing of Camp Gole Gujral.
Police said that a case in this connection has been registered and further investigation is on in this regard. |
