Udhampur, Dec 21: Three months on, the Education Department is running without a Chief Education Officer (CEO) in district Udhampur.
Insiders informed that CEO Udhampur Jattu Ram retired on September 30 this year and then the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kud Principal, Tarsem Lal was given additional charge of CEO Udhampur.Since then authorities at the helm did nothing to appoint a regular CEO for Udhampur.
The CEO with additional charge is too busy in performing his duties as CEO that his own performance at DIET is suffering neglect.
Sources informed that all the lectures and heads of departments (HoDs) who were under DIET principal at Kud doing their duties at their free will as there is none to check them because the DIET Principal is busy in business of CEO Udhampur.
Bishan, a retired Education Department officer said while there are hundreds of KAS and IAS officers with the State Government and news of transfers and postings emerge everyday in newspapers, why some suitable officer is not posted as CEO Udhampur. |
