JAMMU, Dec 21: The students and staff of Alexander Memorial School Celebrated X'mas festival in the School Premises with usual solemnity and gaiety. The whole campus was tastefully decorated with buntings, X'mas Tree, Symbolic Star & Santa-Clauses etc, befitting the great religious festival, symbolic of the Birth of Lord Jesus Christ more than 2000 years ago. The programme started with the school prayer. 'Into my heart, come into my heart Lord Jesus' by the school choir. I.D. Soni, State Commissioner, J&K State Bharat Scouts & Guides, Agnes Khokhar, Anthony Ignatius, members of the management along with K.B. Magotra, Present President of Rotary Club, Adeep Mehta and Sanjeev Vaid of the Rotary Club, Pastor, Sarafeen Sunny, Ramban and several other dignitaries were among the distinguished guests. The Principal, Esther William, received the guests and presented the welcome address. Rev. Udai Singh, Presbyter Incharge, St. Paul's Church, Jammu gave the Christmas message - the message of love, service, sacrifice and peace. The tiny tots staged a small skit depicting scenes from the Nativity Play. The campus wore a festive look with little Santa-Clauses and angels. The school choir pr esented Christmas Carols:'O Gao re', 'Christ Yashu Jai Jai ho tera', 'We Three Kings', Joy to the World, 'Jingle Bells'and 'We wish you Merry Christmas' in their melodious voice which left the audience spellbound and filled their hearts with joy. An Interact Club of Rotarians of the age group below 18 was selected by the dignitaries electing Miss Iqra Gul Manhas as President, Miss Radhika (Secretary) and Master Rahul Dogra (Treasurer) of the club. Each members of the group was given the badge as an Interact of the Rotary Club. The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem followed by Christmas gifts and party for the whole Alexian family, including the students, who were in a joyous mood with their faces wreathed in smiles. |
