Centre asked to allow continuance of President's rule in J&K | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 24: The Central Government is under constant pressure that President's rule should be allowed to continue for more time to curb the activities of subversive elements and Separatists. According to sources people from various shades of opinion have approached the Union Government through their representatives urging it that President rule be allowed in the State for one year for restoration of peace and weeding out of terrorism from the State. Sources said while giving their feedback to some representatives of Union Government they said that security forces and police are presently fully in control of the situation and terrorists are on run. The expert opinion and defense analysts believe that if the security forces and police were allowed to work in the same way they will restore the situation to normalcy within one year. Sources said while arguing their point this class of people on the basis of data said that the stone pelting incidents have come down considerably and such incidents are now negligible which were on peak during 'popular' Government. In support of their argument they have also informed the Union Government that political governments come under influence and they restrain the police from action which boosts morale of Separatist and subversive elements. So for restoration of peace and normalcy the continuance of President's rule for one year at least is imperative, sources added demanding that Assembly poll be deferred in the State for one year. They said that there have been encouraging results as the militancy is on vain and any reverse decision will provide oxygen to subversives for revival. |
