Defunct ESIC office Kathua disappoints visitors | Computers lying defunct, branch head sends email from ESIC's dispensary | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24: The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)'s branch Kathua office has gone defunct as the head of branch is forced to send emails from a nearby ESIC dispensary because all the computers installed in the office aren't working for several months. Sources informed Early Times that the computers installed in the branch office Kathua are not working properly subjecting the gullible employees to inconvenience. As per the information provided by an official there are five computers and three hi-tech printers in the office to run the day to day business of the office but ironically all of them aren't working. An employee's laptop rescues the employees and the office but when he goes on leave, the employees are left high and dry. However, the branch office is established near the Gate Number seven of Chanab Textile Mills (CTM) by the Ministry of Labour and Employment to cater thousands of workers of industrial area of district Kathua but due to non- functioning of computers, the employees who visit the office return disappointed. Sources further said that recently, the social security organisation (ESIC) has claimed that it has extended the services in all the 22 districts of the state but the only branch of Industrial area Kathua is not functioning properly due to technical snag in all the computers. "The callousness on part of ESIC official (branch head) can be gauged from the fact that he always visits to nearby ESIC dispensary which is situated adjacent to ESIC office for sending emails", alleged sources. The matter, sources said, was brought to the notice of the higher authorities repeatedly without results. |
