Udhampur, Dec 29: Over a month has passed, the elected President and Vice President of Udhampur Municipal Committee (MC) have yet to take oath.
Meanwhile, there is complete mess in affairs of this MC as work has not been started unlike other municipalitiwhich is hanging between devil and death as far as works are concerned even oath ceremony of muncipal councils or commeties of other districs in jammu provision were completed and work will continue under the president and Vice President .
That were boted to power during the recently concluded ULB elections .
Heaps of garbage, stray dogs and stinky drains greet the people. Pushpa, a school teacher while accusing the municipality of inaction said even street lights are not working properly. Similar views were expressed by Other locals.
It is pertinent to mention here Dr Yogeshwar has been elected as the President and Surinder Singh Khalsa as Vice President of Udhampur MC which has a total of 21 Counsellors among which BJP has four, NPP has six, nine are Independents and Congress has two.
When contacted deputy commissioner Udhampur Ravinder Kumar said that within two or four days we will isue the notice and announce the date of oath ceremony of president and Vice President of muncipal council Udhampur. |
