2 decades on, ITI diploma holders await employment | | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Dec 30: After doing two year diploma and crash courses in different trades from different Industrial Training of Institutes some two decades back, the candidates still await employment. According to sources that, some hundreds of candidates from north Kashmir and other parts of the valley had completed their two year diploma in electric and other trades, but due to less influence and corruption in the system, they are jobless. Sheikh Amir from Khowjabagh while talking to early times said that, in nineties he had done two year diploma from Industrial Institute Training (ITI) Kralhar Baramulla, but so for he was not selected in the department concerned. "I wasted my precious two years and months together in good hope, but I was always given a hope that, he will be in the next list", said Sheikh Amir. He said that, almost there were dozens of candidates with me, who had completed either two years diploma or crash courses, and some of them are over aged now. In 2006 vide cabinet issued an order no 116/4 dated 11.05.2006 to engage ITI trained electrician in Agriculture, PHE, PDD and Irrigation departments as casual labourers, said Amir in a low tune. However he said that following the apathy from state government the aggrieved diploma holders knocked at the doors of judiciary and filed a Service Writ Petition SWP number 1700/2006, CMP number 3049/2006 dated 20.12.2006 titled Sheikh Aamir Mehraj V/S state and others. The candidates have pinned hopes on Governor administration. |
