JAMMU, Jan 2: The opening ceremony of Inter Zone sports Meet 2018 organised by Jammu and Kashmir was inaugurated today by Dilbag Singh, DGP Jammu and Kashmir at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. Inter Zone sports meet will commence from 2nd January and will end on 6th January.
The five day sports event will host numerous games for both men and women. From Basketball to Wushu to Wrestling scores of participants will showcase their talent in the event. There are six zones participating in the event which includes SDRF Zone, Training Zone, Jammu Zone, Kashmir Zone, Intel select Zone and Armed Zone.
The event was started by daredevil's motorcycle team showcasing National flag, followed by State Flag and at the end Police was showcased. All the six zones paraded and saluted the chief guest of the honor DGP Jammu and Kashmir.
Arun Kumar Choudhary, IPS ADGP, Jammu and Kashmir speaking on the occasion said that the main motive of the event is to promote sports among the youth of the nation. The best example of our talent is the Kuldeep Handoo and Asian Games Bronze medalist winner Bhanu Pratap Singh.
He added that is the best platform for all the talented players to showcase their talent and to get selected and represent the state and police at the national and international level. We are hoping for the good competition in this sports meet. |
