Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 2: Eight days model training course on Entrepreneurship development through Spwn Production and Mushroom Cultivation concluded today at Mushroom Research and Training Centre, SKUAST-Jammu. The training course was sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare, Govt. of India. Twenty two participants including eighteen officers of the Directorates of Agriculture and Horticulture of Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Jammu and four scientists from PAU Ludhiana, SKUAST-K and SKUAST-J attended the training programme. Besides scientists from SKUAST-J, scientists of DMR Solan, IIPT, N.Delhi and University of Jammu also delivered their expert lectures on various aspects of mushroom cultivation and spawn production. Prof. P.K. Sharma Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J who was the chief guest of the impressive valedictory function advocated to have better linkages. He also laid emphasis on diversification of mushroom varieties. Prof. J.P. Sharma, Director Research, SKUAST-J stressed upon the cultivation of medicinal mushrooms. Prof. D.P. Abrol, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture highlighted the activities of the centre. Prof. Anil Gupta, Head, Division of Plant Pathology presented the course report. S.A Zakaria from Department of Horticulture, Assam and Dr. Shakun Rana from Directorate of Horticulture, Govt. of H.P. narrated their experiences and feedback on behalf of the participants. Dr. Sachin Gupta, Course Director conducted the proceedings of the programme and presented the vote of thanks. |
