RAMBAN, Jan 2: In continuation to its special drive against the menace of bovine smuggling launched on the directions of SSP Ramban-Anita Sharma, today Ramban police claimed to have rescued 10 bovines. Police spokesman said that today a police party led by SHO Ramban-Inspector Vijay Kotwal under supervision of DySP HQ Ramban Asgar Malik under close supervision of Adll SP-Sanjay Parihar established a surprise naka near Shan Palace, Ramban. "During checking, a Vehicle bearing registration number JK14E-4283 got intercepted and on search the said vehicle found loaded with bovine animals", said spokesman adding that total 10 bovine animals have been rescued also siezed the truck. He further said that a suspected bovine smugglers namely Mohd Aslam of Thanda Pader Udhmpur has been taken into custody. "On questioning, the suspected person revealed that he was trying to smuggle the bovine animals towards Kashmir without seeking permission from the concerned authorities", said spokesman. In this regard a case under FIR No. 01/19 under section 188 of RPC, 3 PC Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation taken up. |
