More than half faculty of Bio-Chemistry, GMC goes on leave | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 7: The callous attitude of the management of the Government Medical College Jammu can be gauged from the fact that more than half of the faculty members of Bio-Chemistry Department are once again on leaves and the department is left on God Marcy. Here it needs to be mentioned that last year in November 2018 the same faculty members had gone on leaves without informing the concerned authority due to which the functioning of the department had affected badly but then higher-ups had not taken any action in this regard. Taking privilege, sources told Early Times that the almost half of the faculty members of the said department have gone on leave and working in the department has been affected. "There are seven faculty members in the Bio-Chemistry department, GMC Jammu and one has already gone outside the state for higher study and currently six faculty members are present in the department but a few days ago, more than 5 faculty members are on leave," a doctor of GMC Jammu stated. He also said that the department is facing various problems in carrying out routine various tests in absence of the staff and department is almost lying empty, which raises a serious question on the working of the management of the GMC Jammu. Slamming the lackadaisical approach of the concerned higher-ups, he said that more than half faculty members cannot go on leave. He further said that GMC Jammu has become a hub of wrongdoings and rules and regulations are being bent to appease their near and dears. Some doctors in GMC Jammu are very influential that why no one has dared to take action against them if they violate rules or disobey the rules. |
