Poonch, Jan 13: Border district Poonch is well known as far flung, backward and border district in state where people need all basic amenities like health, water, road and electricity.
The district hospital lacks the facilities and infrastructure to cater to the needs of the people. Locals informed early times that, not a single tablet is available at district hospital for poor patients whereas government is claiming to provide free medicines to government hospitals. Abdul Rashid Shahpuri found the hospital in a mess when he visited the hospital for the treatment of his mother. He said no medicines were available in the hospital. "All chemist shops were closed. "There is no fair price shop in the hospital. Patients suffer a lot especially during night hours," he said.
Ajaz Sidiqui said, doctors are taking bribe from patients instead of surgeries and other treatments and force patients to visit their private clinics. Locals have appealed to governor Satya Pal Malik to take notice of the course and provide all facilities to the said hospital as Poonch is 250 away from Jammu. |
