PDP leader quits party to land in trouble | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13: A senior politician from central Kashmir, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, has landed in trouble as no party looks allegedly interested in accepting him at this point of time. Sources said the leader in question, who had also remained a minister in the previous government, had recently approached the National Conference to express his willingness in joining them but that the party leadership is said to be unwilling and have sought time to decide about him. Sources said the NC leadership thinks that welcoming a leader to the party folds "who doesn't refrain from training a gun at public places would be suicidal" for the party. "A man who trains a gun at any provocation won't be that fit in NC as this is a party of the disciplined," said one insider on the condition of anonymity. Source said the leader in question, resigned from the PDP only after there were "new voices of dissent" in the party. Sources said he was among the group of leaders who had raised a new banner of revolt against PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and wanted her to sack one of the leaders from Bandipora. Sources as Mehbooba Mufti didn't sack the "unwanted leader" from the party, this leader in question tendered his resignation. Sources said the said leader has now started lobbying in the Congress that they should invite him to the party. "The deliberations have been on but nothing can be said of now if he will be really welcome in the party or not as his temperament is not that appreciable," said a source in the Congress. Source said the leader in question may go to New Delhi for some meetings with the political parties there. Despite repeated attempts the said leader was not available for comments. |
