DH Kathua without ARV | | | Harpeet Singh Early Times Report Kathua, Jan 13: The District Hospital Kathua is short of Anti Rabbies Vaccine (ARV) and the victims are forced to purchase it from the market. Pertinently, the hospital received eight to ten cases of dog bites every day. While the well off persons can afford to purchase the vaccine from the open market , the poor are left high and dry. Sumit Singh while talking to Early Times said when he came to district hospital, few days ago with his sister who was bitten by a dog, he was told the hospital had no ARV. "I purchased the vaccine from the market", he said. It has come to fore that the hospital fell short of the vital vaccine five months ago. Till date, sources said, the emergency is operatinmg without the vaccine. The matter was raised time and again with the higher authorities but nothing has moved till date. |
