Jammu, Feb 12: At the outset, Director Family Welfare Dr. Arun Sharma who is also Chairman of the implementation committee, set up for the National Health Resource Repository census for J&K, while welcoming the Chairman and other dignitaries on the dais, apprised that aim of NHRR is to create a web based and geo mapping enabled single platform of all the health resources both public and private. NHRR inter-alia includes, all hospitals, clinics/policlinics, diagnostic labs, pharmacies, etc. The database will comprise of information on health infrastructure, human resources and availability of medical facilities in each health establishment in the State. Chief Guest, Atal Dulloo, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt. Health & Medical Education Deptt. while sharing his views opined that NHRR is an excellent initiative of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI. There is no comprehensive data registry of health institutions with the State and only guess work/estimations are made on no. of total health care establishments, doctors, status of available health services etc. NHRR being IT enabled, shall be of immense use for determining the exact figures with respect to various health care indicators. It will also provide a common platform for health facility institutions to serve the population area where the need for health facilities are required the most. |
