| BOC reaches inside Central Jail with Swachhta Abhiyan | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 12: The Bureau of Outreach and Communication (BOC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Jammu and Kashmir Region organized a day long awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) here today in Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal.
The Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) is the Swachhta Mission extensively for cities with the aims and objectives to scientifically dispose off various types of waste materials being produce by hospitals, factories, small scale industries and human beings of urban areas.
The programme was organized in order to sensitize and mobilize the staff member of the jail in general and jail inmates in particular about various aspects and provision of Swachhta Abhiyan and to make all of them aware that how to convert the waste materials in useful bi products and organic fertilizers scientifically.
On the occasion, a series of expert lectures were delivered by the experts made available by the organizers from various state government departments that include Jammu Municipal Corporation, State Pollution Control Board and Urban Local Bodies. The awareness programme was attended by a large number of audiences including jail staff and inmates. The programme was presided over by Dr Mohd Sultan Lone, Deputy Inspector General, Prisons, Jammu Kashmir, whereas Rajni Seghal, Senior Superintendent, Central Jail Kote Bhalwal, Jammu was guest of honour on the occasion.
A theme based drawing competition was also organized during the programme in which 12 jail inmates took active part and painted their ideas about Swachhta Abhiyan.
Later, all resource persons and painting competition contestants were honoured with mementoes, utility gifts and certificates by the organizers. |
