Reasi, Feb 12: Continuing its drive against illegal miners, yesterday late night acting on a tip off, a special team from Police station Reasi, went to Anji Nallah, where the illegal mining was taking place, despite being banned by the order of District Magistrate, Reasi. Sensing the police vehicle coming, some vehicle owners tried to flee from the spot, but police managed to arrest 6 persons, mostly drivers and laborers of tippers and tractors, who were caught while they were loading their vehicles with riverbed material (Sand, Bajri etc). The accused persons have been identified as 1. Anil Sharma @Makhan S/o Sudesh Kumar R/o Suketer, Ashiq Ali S/o Fazal Kareem R/o Kayala, Junaid Mohd S/o Mohd Hussain R/o Dassanoo, Matbir Hussain S/o Mashir Din R/o Dassanoo, Mohd Latif S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Dassanoo , Mohd Haroon S/o Mohd Hussain R/o Dassanoo. In this regard, FIR No. 31/19 under section 188 RPC, has been lodged in Police Station Reasi, against the above mentioned accused persons and investigation has been set into motion.The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Dr Nikhil Gogna DySP Hqrs Reasi, Shiv Kumar Chouhan ASP Reasi, and under the overall supervision of SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal. |
