People continue to suffer due to inclement weather in Doda, Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12 : The people in Doda and Kishtwar Districts of Jammu Division continue to suffer due to fresh rain and Snowfall as more than 8 lakh people continuously left under darkness since last seven days as NHPC fail to restore 132 KV transmission line to Doda and Kishtwar due to collapsing of six towers. The people from various areas of Kishtwar and Doda Districts inform the Early Times about their plights added that the government as well as the Administration has fail to mitigate the problems faced by the people in terms of non Clarence of snow on road leading to villages, non availability of ration, medicines, Kerosene Oil and other eatables. At some places people decide to self help through village committees. Pench Mushtaq Ahmed from Razna Palmar in Kishtwar District said that after Havey snow fall Rakna- Ziyarat Sharief Road & Hatna-Whan roads are closed and no one from local Administration comes for their help even after several days. He urged upon the authorities to take immediate steps for restoration of the road. In some place the people on its own clean the snow from the roads while huge rush of people were seen outside the LPG cylinders outlet where people were standing in long ques to collect the LPG cylinders since no kerosene oil or fire wood has been made available to the people by the government since last several years. |
