| GCW Udhampur organises parent-teacher meet | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12: Parent-Teacher interactive Meet was organized by the Department of English, Govt. College for Women, Udhampur. The objective of the meet was to interact with the parents of the students of various courses viz. Functional English, English Literature, and Skill Courses in English and to provide a platform to discuss the various issues concerning the Campus life of the students.
Dr. Chander Shekhar Principal, G.C.W, Udhampur was the chief guest in the function which was attended by the parents as well the members of Advisory Committee and Dean Students' Welfare and faculty members of English Department. Formal Welcome was extended by Prof. Jatinder Kour, Head, Department of English followed by Vandana, presented by the students of Music Department under the guidance of Prof. Naveen Sharma, H.O.D, Music.
An elaborate power-point presentation was made by Prof. Sudhir Singh Dept. of English, and an interaction with the parents ensued, whereby parents of the students expressed their satisfaction and endorsed the positive steps taken by the college administration under the aegis of Prof. Chander Shekhar.
Prominent among them who spoke on the occasion were Sh. Anant Ram, Sh. Krishan Lal Sharma and Surinder Kumar and they came forward with certain suggestions which were duly noted and an assurance was made that they would be subsequently incorporated in the action plan for the next session.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Chander Shekhar in his speech extended his heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their positive approach and he highlighted the various developmental projects undertaken by the college administration especially during his tenure. He also motivated students to be self-dependant and to progress in every sphere without any inhibition and exhorted parents also to have faith in their daughters and encourage them to excel in every field. |
