| GMC doctors deliver faculty lecture at IMSCON | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 22: Dr (Prof.) Sudha Sharma, a noted Gynecologist & Prof. and Head Medicine Dr. Anil Mahajan from GMC Jammu were invited as National Faculty at IMSCON-2019 at Kolkata. This National Conference of Indian Menopause Society (IMS) was attended by International and National Faculty besides many Indian delegates. Prof. Susan Davis (President International Menopause Society ) Dr. Steven R. Gold Stein(President Elect IMS ) and Prof. Nicholas Panay (British Menopause Society) eminent experts in the field of menopause highlighted role of Menopause Hormone Therapy, Androgen Therapy and Alternative Therapies for Menopausal women. Dr. Sudhaa highlighted the cancer risk, awareness & importance of screening breast in cases of Mastalgia & role of Reassurance & Drug therapy in such cases. Dr Sudha was one of the contributor along with Dr Rashmi Shah(Mumbai) in 1000 MCQ book on Menopause released on Inauguration and also contributed with Dr.Annil Mahajan and Dr Varun in a book regarding a Menopausal Case Prescription writing. Another Historic book carrying profile of all those doctors who started Indian Menopause Society at National and Local level was also released. Dr. Sudha who is founder Head of this society in this region also shared various challenges in the management of menopausal women in this book. Dr. Annil Mahajan in his presentation, Menopause and Osteoarthritis, highlighted that osteoarthritis (OA) affects women almost with onset of Menopause. Hormone deficiency also affects cartilage, ligaments, subchondral bone and muscles and leads to joint failure. |
