Udhampur, Feb 22: Continuing its war on drugs offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Udhampur police under the supervision of Rajiv Pandey-SSP Udhampur recovered 12 grams of contraband substance (chitta) from 02 narcotic smugglers at Udhampur in two different cases.
Sharing details Rajiv Pandey-SSP Udhampur said that based on a reliable information, a party of Udhampur police station led by Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO Udhampur assisted by SI Jaswinder Singh incharge police post Roundomail under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs. Udhampur and Rajinder Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur raised a surprise naka near Subash stadium, Udhampur for checking of vehicles.
"During naka checking, police party arrested one suspected person at naka point who tried to escape from the police party. However the said person was taken into custody and during his personal search, 06 grams of heroin (chitta) was recovered from the possession of said accused namely Mohammad Rafiq of Jakheni, Udhampur who was arrested on spot and recovered chitta has been seized", said SSP Udhampur .
In this connection, a case under FIR no.60/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Udhampur police station and further investigation of the case is taken up.
In another case, same Police party of Police Station Udhampur Udhampur raised a naka at Circular Road, Udhampur for checking of vehicles.
"During naka checking police party stopped one suspected person at circular road near Main Bazar, Udhampur", said SSP Udhampur.
He further said that the said person was taken into custody and during checking of said person namely Abhishek Gupta of Sallian Talab, Udhampur and 06 grams of contraband substance (chitta) was recovered from his possession. The said accused was arrested on spot and chitta was seized.
In this connection, a case under FIR no.59/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in Udhampur police station and further investigation of the case is taken up. |
