| Locals demand completion of concrete bunker along LoC | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Feb 26: Following the pre dawn air strike by Indian Air Force on JeM and LeT camps in Balakote, Chakoti and Muzzafarabad in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has resorted to heavy mortar shelling and indiscriminate firing along LoC in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch besides Akhnoor sector sources said here today.
Sources said Pakistan army has violated ceasfire along LoC in Balakote, Mendhar, Mankote, Krishna Ghati sectors and resorted to heavy mortar shelling and indiscriminate firing across the border targeting directly civilian areas and border villages.
They said people have been sitting indoors due to fear psychosis and shutters were closed in Mendhar market soon after the air strike news spread on national Channels. People have alleged that the concrete bunkers for people living in villages along LoC have not been completed.
Due to border skirmishes people have to take refuge at safer places but concrete bunkers were not sufficient to accommodate the people as larger number of bunkers were still in complete. Balakote Youth Front president Zaheer Ahmed Khan has urged district administration and SDM Mendhar to take up the construction work of concrete bunkers at war footing and tension along LoC may increase further as Indian army was also giving befitting reply to Pakistan and has destroyed its two posts in Balakote sector and two in Mendhar sector so far, he added. |
