| DB directs SIT to conduct enquiry into allegations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 26: In a Public Interest Litigation seeking constitution of Shrine Board at Machial Mata and for constituting a Special Investigation Team to look into the financial irregularities and assets of the Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Adv Aditya Sharma for the PIL, directed SIT to proceed with the investigation expeditiously and file a status report within four weeks from today.
The SIT shall also conduct an enquiry into the allegations being made with regard to the embezzlement of the properties and assets of the Shrine as well as the cement scam.
General Administration Department had placed the compliance report dated 25th February, 2019 on record enclosing a copy of Government Order dated 21st February, 2019 whereby a Special Investigation Team (SIT) stands constituted pursuant to court order dated 31st December, 2018.
DB further directed Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to continue with the exercise being undertaken by him in terms of court order dated 31st December, 2018 and place the report thereof before the court on the next date of hearing. |
