Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 26: Expressing their sincere gratitude to Governor for the extension of Article 16 (4) A & B of constitution of India to J&K State by Presidential Ordinance for the restoration of reservation in promotion for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories, the Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) has appealed for early promulgation of Presidential Ordinance to extend Article 16 (4) A & B to settle the fiasco in the matter of reservation in promotion once forever in the State.
The leaders of JKRCEA were hopeful that this time, the proposal of promulgation of Presidential Ordinance shall not be handled the way it had been done by the bureaucracy and political machineries of the State earlier as a stay was granted by the Supreme Court in the case of reservation in promotion. They also informed that the SC/ST communities for the first time had sigh of relief when the governor administration promptly responded over the issue after a delegation of JKRCEA had apprised him, advisors as well as Avinash Rai Khanna (Incharge BJP J&K) about this very sensitive and serious matter and all of them assured JKRCEA that constitutionally viable decision shall be taken in the matter to negate the effects of Division Bench Order of the J&K High Court. The leaders of JKRCEA unanimously condemned anti constitution, anti reserved categories propaganda of few paper organizations who otherwise have no say in their respective communities.
Sham Lal Bassan, while talking to media person said that few people have issued anti-reservation appeals and press statements which can unnecessarily provoke sentiments of SC, ST and OBCs of Jammu Division constituting about 60% of the Division's population. He further said that before issuing such absurd statement these paper tigers must read constitution, article 370 and law of the land in details. He appealed such people to desist from issuing anti-constitutional and anti-SC/ST/OBC statements otherwise they will be constrained for take legal course against such vested interest who are hell bent upon vitiating atmosphere of Jammu province.
