Jubilation in Jammu following IAF strike | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 26: The pre-dawn strike by the IAF on a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) camp inside Pakistan on Tuesday sparked jubilation in Jammu as people hailed the armed forces for the action. Youths also came out on the streets to celebrate the airstrike across the border in Kathua, Samba, Poonch, Rajouri and Udhampur, officials said. "The splendid strike by the IAF is the biggest tribute to the martyrs especially 40 CRPF personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the nation on February 14," Dogra Front chairman Ashok Gupta said. Gupta, who led a large group of activists at Rani Park here to celebrate the strike, said the entire nation was seeking revenge for the Pulwama attack. The activists were carrying the tricolor and a photograph of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised slogans before dispersing off peacefully. Gupta, however, was highly critical of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and said "we are nationalist and cannot shun the national flag". She claims that nobody is going to lift the national flag if the Article 35A and Article 370 are revoked. I want to convey to her that as long as we are alive we will continue to hold the tricolor whatever the case. A group of Jammu University students also raised slogans outside the varsity complex in praise of the IAF for its action. BJP activists and supporters also unfurled tricolor at different places and raised slogans in favour of India and its forces. Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, VHP and Shiv Sena also gathered at different parts of the city and hailed the IAF for the airstrikes. Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackrey, J&K unit, congratulated the Indian forces for carrying out air strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan. India struck Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) biggest camp in Pakistan early on Tuesday in a major "preemptive" action killing a large number of terrorists and trainers of the Pak-based terror group preparing to carry out suicide attacks in this country. The operation by a dozen Mirage 2000 jets destroyed terror camps in Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Team Jammu today saluted brave Indian Air Force fighter pilots who carried out pre-dawn air strikes on terror camps across the Line Control in the Pakistani side and stated that "this is the real tribute to the CRPF Jawans who attained martyrdom on February 14 in a dastardly attack triggered by JeM terrorists in Pulwama district of Kashmir valley." "The air-strikes on terrorists' camps at Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakoti ares of PoK by Indian Air Force is befitting reply to Pakistan that has been encouraging terrorism in J&K as well other parts of the country," said Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal and added that "this is also a tribute by IAF, on behalf of entire nation, to all those martyrs including that of para-military forces as well as J&K Police who have laid down their lives while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir." Shri Ram Sena (SRS) today hailed India's pre-emptive strikes on terror camps in Pakistan. In a press statement issued here today, Shri Ram Sena J&K President Rajiv Mahajan said that every Indian who had the pain and anguish of the martyrdom of our forces is greatly relieved and delighted this morning. He saluted Air Force for a meticulous operation adding that our forces have yet again proved that they are world class anyway. He said people of Indian stood solidly behind their armed forces as he described the IAF strikes as an act of great valour. |
