SHO provides safe passage to bovine smugglers for money | Deputes his karyakhass to collect money from truckers | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5: An influential Inspector who is posted as Station House Officer (SHO) in one of the districts of Jammu-Kathua-Samba (JKS) Range has allegedly deputed his karyakhass at nakas to collect money from truckers for providing them safe passage in the jurisdiction of his police station. The SHO is providing shelter to the bovine smugglers in his jurisdiction in lieu of monetary benefits and for this he has deputed his subordinates. According to reliable sources, few months ago, a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the JKS Range ordered transfer and posting of Station House officers (SHO) in different police stations of the district and the Inspector in question who was posted in District Police Lines (DPL) was posted as SHO of the police station along the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway owing to his self created image of anti-bovine smugglers. Sources further claimed that two days ago a truck loaded with bovines crossed the Nakka of his Jurisdiction very easily in morning time after paying a hefty amount to the personnel deputed there, but the truck was intercepted by the Police Post that falls under the jurisdiction of another police station and which is also located along the National Highway. When asked how they crossed the naka, bovine smugglers informed the officer that they paid money. Meanwhile, hearing that the smugglers had been apprehended, the erring SHO reached the spot saying the smugglers had broken the naka and he was chasing them. Concerned citizens have expressed apprehensions about safety of the people of the state. "If smugglers can cross the nake by giving money, the anti-nationals can also sneak into the state giving money," they said. It is pertinent to mention that anti-nationals have sneaked into past through Pathankot-Kathua highway. |
